The Britax Diplomat

The Britax Diplomat is a compact convertible child seat ideal for use with smaller vehicles. The Britax Diplomat features True Side Impact Protection™ with deep side walls and head support to provide advanced protection in side impact collisions. The quick-adjust headrest and harness re-positions effortlessly without having to uninstall the seat. The tangle-free, polyester, five-point harness and push-button LATCH connectors help to ensure a snug and secure installation. Unique features include the patented Versa-Tether® for energy management, and rear and forward facing recline for child comfort, and a body pillow for positioning. The Diplomat fits children rear facing from five to 35 pounds and children forward facing from at least one year old and 20 pounds, up to 40 pounds.

Rear Facing Child Weight: 5lbs - 35lbs.

           Forward Facing Child Weight: 20lbs - 40lbs.

Rear Facing Child Seated Torso Height: 11"- 15"  

           Forward Facing Child Seated Torso Height: 12" - 15"

*To measure torso height, sit child against a wall and measure from floor to shoulders.  This is the most important factor besides weight in determining if a child will fit in a particular car seat.

The seat is fully extended and at it's max height and Kobe's shoulders are a tiny bit above the harness (which is ok ONLY when rear facing)  He has already outgrown this seat for forward facing use.  While it is a great, compact little seat for babies and small toddlers that will fit nicely rear facing in most compact vehicles, it will not last nearly as long as it's big brother, the Boulevard.  So if you have the space in your vehicle, we recommend you go with the Boulevard to be able to get more years of use out of the seat.
