* Please Note - We only sell current Britax Marathon 2008 model car seats - many other online stores will sell you a 2 or 3 year old car seat that has been sitting in their warehouse for years (without telling you) so please be aware of this when comparison shopping. Most car seats have an expiration date of 6 years so by purchasing one of these older seats you may save a few dollars but will get significantly less use out of the seat in the end.
The Britax Marathon ™ is the number one selling Britax convertible child seat and is ideal for parents seeking premium comfort and a higher, forward-facing weight capacity. The tangle-free, five-point harness and push-button LATCH connectors help to tightly secure your child every day. Unique features include the patented Versa-Tether® for energy management, and rear and forward facing recline for child comfort and positioning. The Marathon fits children rear facing from five to 35 pounds and children forward facing from at least one year old and 20 pounds, up to 65 pounds.
BRITAX MARATHON FEATURES
- The Five-Point Polyester Harness, with strong no-tangle polyester webbing, fits snugly over the child's shoulders, collarbone and hips providing a more secure fit as your child grows. Versa-Tether™ is patented by Britax, for the most security in both forward and rear facing installations.
- The Marathon now has modified EPS (Expanded PolyStyrene) foam insert to increase available shoulder width room. The Marathon already offers the widest width for any harnessed childseat up to 65 lbs. and the new optional insert will increase the shoulder room by another 1.5 inches.
- The Patented "Floating" HUGS System is designed to better distribute webbing loads to reduce head movement and minimize the chance for webbing edge loading on the child's neck in the case of an impact. In addition, it is designed to reduce the chance of improper positioning of the chest clip.
- Built in Lock-Offs, both forward facing and rear facing, are designed for easy reach and operation when using traditional belt routing.
- Four different shoulder harness positions will accommodate the taller child and the newly designed base allows for a more secure fit in most autos.

*To measure torso height, sit child against a wall and measure from floor to shoulders. This is the most important factor besides weight in determining if a child will fit in a particular car seat.
